In Punjab, Election Commission has ordered transfer of four officers after getting complaints against them.The Commission has made it clear that there is no move to appoint Non-Resident Indians as the polling agents during assembly elections. But the NRI who has to be appointed as a polling agent should be a voter of the concerned polling station. State Election Office has received 2150 complaints so far regarding the violation of Model Code of Conduct out of which 1360 have been disposed off.Seized unaccounted cash of 28 crore 36 lakh rupees has been deposited with the Income Tax department.
