Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has been honoured with the “Fakhar-A-Qaum” award by the highest sikh temporal body Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, Amritsar today at Amritsar. Jathedar (Chief) of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singh presented the award to Chief Minister in the Golden Temple complex in the presence of Chiefs(punj singh sehban) of all the Takhats.Bhog ceremony of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was performed before presenting the award. Presenting the award Akal Takhat Jathedar said this award is being presented to Parkash Singh Badal for his services to the state especially to the sikhs. He had announced this award at Sri Anand Pur Sahib last month , the day on which Virasat A Khalsa complex was dedicated to mankind. Akal Takhat Chief said that Punjab Chief Minister has rendered a great service to the sikhs by setting up memorials in the memory of martyrs of sikh history.
