In Punjab, partial bandh is being observed in the state following a bandh call given by some panthic Sikh organisations against firing by police at Ludhiana in which one person was killed. Rail, road traffic and hospital services in the entire state are not affected. The situation is peaceful and under control. Schools and colleges at some places have been closed down. The Bandh is total in Amritsar where all bazaars are closed while at other places some of the shops are open. Banks are working and attendance in government offices is thin. Tight security is being maintained at all places and Ludhiana is peaceful under total curfew.<br/><br/>
