Punjab Assembly session begins today

Punjab Assembly session is beginning at Chandigarh this afternoon. During the week long session total five sittings will be there. On the opening day today tributes will be paid to all those eminent personalities which left this world after the last budget session of assembly. Political experts consider this session crucial because state is facing agitation at many fronts as farmers are sitting at dharna in Chandigarh, teachers are on strike , electricity employees and ministerial employees of the state are also on strike and opposition congress is going to raise issues concerning the demands of all these people. Former Chief Minister and senior congress leader Captain Amrinder Singh is attending this session after the reinstatement of his membership by the Supreme Court. He was expelled from the assembly in September 2008.
