In a short while from now, Judge B V Guddali of the 11th Fast Track Court in Bangaluru will pronounce punishment sentence to the convicted cab driver Shiva Kumar in the rape and murder of Pratibha Srikrishnamurthy case. In a Judgement on sixth of this month, the Cab driver Shiva Kumar was convicted for rape and murder of Pratibha while ferrying her to the BPO where she was working. Reserving the Sentence, the Judge had announced that the quantum of punishment will be pronounced today. Pratibha was 28 when the tragedy struck. Pratibha’s mother Gowramma was waging lone judicial battle since 2005 to get Justice for her daughter’s death. Pratibha’s death shocked BPO offices across the country into reviewing security for their women staffers.
