The pitch used for the first Test between India and Australia in Pune has been given a poor rating by the International Cricket Council,ICC, match referee Chris Broad. In accordance with ICC Pitch and Outfield Monitoring Process, Mr. Broad submitted his report expressing concern over the quality of the pitch. The ICC has forwarded the match referee's report to BCCI, which now has 14 days to respond. BCCI's response will be reviewed by ICC's General Manager, Geoff Allardice and Ranjan Madugalle from the elite panel of ICC match referees.In the Pune Test, Australia won the match by 333 runs, which ended on day three. The visitors bowled out India for 105 and 107. Spinners accounted for 31 of the 40 wickets that fell during the Test. India has been under the scanner earlier by ICC for pitch curating. In a similar incident in November 2015, the Nagpur pitch was also rated poor by ICC match referee during India South Africa Test match that also ended inside three days with an emphatic victory for the hosts.
