<span style="color: #222222;">A Pune-based, Shree Swami Samarth Farmer Producer Company which has been providing a platform to farmers to sell their produce by organising  weekly markets today found a mention in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' programme.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The company started organising weekly markets for the farmers to sell their produce from the year 2014. Banking on the success it had in weekly markets, the company is now aiming to start the facility centres for the farmers' in Pune and nearby areas.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports, working with a mission to develop systemised and organised agriculture marketing, the Shree Swami Samarth Farmer Producer Company has been playing a vital role in providing a platform to farmers' to sell their agriculture produce. The weekly markets are organised at 24 places in Pune and Mumbai where farmers' from different parts of the state come and sell their produce. Mr. Ruturaj Jadhav, Director of the company told AIR that due to overwhelming response, the turnover of these weekly markets went up to 110 crore rupees last year.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">During the lockdown too, the company tied up with the Pune Municipal Corporation to supply commodities to people residing in residential societies who could not step out due to the pandemic.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The company which has been working as a direct marketing channel also provides platform to the women self help groups. Besides, it also guides the farmers' on producing certain crops which would fetch them good returns in the weekly markets. Moreover, the company is also going to start facility centres where sorting, grading and cleaning of the produce would be done. The farmers' can thereafter sell their commodities in urban areas to find a better market.</span><br />
