In Manipur, the proscribed People’s United Liberation Front (PULF) – Umar Farooq faction has surrendered en-masse to Government today with a lot of arms and ammunition. In a home coming ceremony held at the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (IGAR)-South Headquarters at Imphal ,41 cadres of the outfit led by its Chairman Umar Farooq and General Secretary, Bilal Khan laid down arms to join the national mainstream.Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Ibobi Singh said that the surrendered militants will be treated as sons and brothers who are coming back home with the hope that they will reinforce the activities of bringing about peace and normalcy in the state.
