Puducherry University on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence, New Delhi paving the way for personnel from the army to pursue higher education. Under the pact, Army will send personnel to undergo post graduate and doctoral studies in Management and Social sciences in the university.The MOU was signed by Mr S.Logathan, Registrar Puducherry University and Lt General V. K. Chaturvedi in the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof J. A. K.Tareen.Speaking to newsmen after the signing of the agreement, Lt General Mukesh Sabharwal, Adjutant General, Defence Ministry said it was the first time that army personnel will be sent to pursue Ph.D programmes and said 50 personnel will be selected to pursue the residential course.
