Puducherry receives 17,500 doses of Covishield

The Union Territory of Puducherry received 17,500 doses of Covishield – Corona virus Disease vaccine. The vaccine is being transported to the distribution centres for the ambitious vaccination drive scheduled on Saturday.<br />'' <br />''Director of Medical Services (DMS) Dr. Mohan Kumar said that this vaccine includes for Karaikal also. The vaccine bottles were stored in cold chain, he said, adding that Mahe region is yet to get the vaccine and expressed hope that it will reach Mahe region today. According to the statistics released by the Health Department 43 persons tested positive for the COVID-19 infection and 22 discharged from the hospitals. One person died.<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">As on today, 298 persons are being treated for the infection. The recovery rate stands at 97.57 per cent and fatality rate stable at 1.66 per cent.</span><br />
