In the Union Territory of Puducherry, following the announcement of the elections, major political parties like AIADMK, DMK, Congress, BJP and NR Congress are engaged in hectic activities. Parleys and discussions are being held to finalise alliances.<br />'' <br />''AIR Correspondent reports, deadlock continues in the All India NR Congress to finalise the alliance with BJP – AIADMK on the sharing of seats and chief minister candidate. And the All India NR Congress leader Rengasamy, maintaining silence on his party's position regarding their alliance with the BJP.<br />'' <br />''As a leader of the Opposition party, NR Congress expects to lead the alliance by contesting more number of seats and as the founder of the party Rengasamy be the chief ministerial candidate of the alliance. But the BJP is in a different mind set and indicates that the government will be formed under a BJP chief Minister , if they win in the elections. This irks the NR Congress. While talking to media persons the state president of BJP Saminathan said that a NR Congress leader Rengasamy will continue with National Democratic Alliance and a concrete decision will be intimated tomorrow. The advantage to BJP is that the party is having 3nominated MLAs in hand right now.<br />'' <br />''But as far as the Congress -DMK alliance is concerned the Puducherry Congress state president Subramanian earlier said that Congress is willing to give the number of seats that DMK seeks. But in Tamil Nadu the situation is different, since the DMK – CONGRESS parties has not finalised their sharing of seats till now. In fact the decisions taken in Tamil Nadu irrespective of the parties influences Puducherry politics also.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The deadlock continues in the seat sharing talks between two major political alliances. Puducherry is a small Union territory with hardly 30 elected MLA seats, and 3 nominated MLAs which shared Karaikal in Tamil Nadu, Mahe in Kerala and Yanam in Andhra Pradesh. Puducherry has been traditionally a Congress stronghold. But the latest development shows that Congress will have a tough time in the forthcoming assembly elections, because of the joining of prominent Congress MLAs in BJP and refusal of some congress leaders to contest elections. </span><br />
