Puducherry LG, Dr. Kiran Bedi thanks Centre for deputing team in UT for COVID management

<span style="color: #222222;">Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Dr. Kiran Bedi has thanked the Government of India for responding to her plea to depute a Central team to the Union Territory to help in COVID management. Earlier, she had urged the Centre for the same and said that Puducherry requires Government of India oversight and expertise in this regard.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In response to the request, the Union Government has deputed a Central team to Puducherry to assist the Health Department. As per the circular, a three-member team has deputed to Puducherry comprising Dr. Sonali Sarakar, Head of the Department of Community Medicine, Dr.S.Sujatha, Professor in Microbiology and Dr. Saka Vindo Kumar, Professor in Respiratory Medicine. All the three members belong to JIPMER HOSPITAL, Puducherry.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The team will undertake visits to all districts and containment zones in Puducherry and review public health measures, infection prevention and control practices being implemented for COVID-19. The team will submit daily reports of activities undertaken to Puducherry Health Department as well as to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Before concluding the visit, the team will submit a report of observations and suggestions to the Lieutenant Governor's office and Health Department along with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.   </span><br />''
