Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Dr Kiran Bedi addressed the Legislative Assembly today.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''In her address Dr Kiran Bedi said the per capita income of Puducherry has increased in the year 2019 – 20 showing a growth rate of 5.3 percent.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''And&nbsp;the Gross State Domestic Product had been estimated at Rupees 37, 943 crores for 2019 -20 which is 10.95 percent higher than the previous year.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''Under the centrally sponsored scheme &quot;Sub-mission on Agricultural&nbsp;Mechanization&quot;,&nbsp;subsidy to the tune of Rs. 54.95 lakhs was sanctioned to farmers in Puducherry.<br />''<b>&nbsp;</b><br />''AIR correspondent reports, Dr Kiran Bedi further said that under State Free Rice Scheme , cash equivalent of 20 kg of rice per month rupees 600&nbsp; to each BBL/AAY card holders and cash equivalent of 10 kg rice per month i.e. Rs. 300 each to the APL card holders is directly transfered to their bank accounts through DBT since April 2019.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''Antyodaya Anna Yojana card holders were given Rs. 1050.70 per card in lieu of 35 kg of rice and BPL card holders Rs 150.10 per member in lieu of 5 kg of rice every month.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''During this Covid 19 pandemic crisis the Puducherry government has been taken timely and effective initiatives to contain the virus spread.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''The UT of Puducherry announced lock down one day advance before the announcement of national lock down demonstration starting its active role in the fight against covid 19, she added.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''Dr Kiran Bedi thanked&nbsp; the Medical , Health personnel, police , and all others who are engaged in fighting the deadly virus spread.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">As soon as LG Dr Kiran Bedi started addressing, Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao, Mr. Lakshmi Narayanan, parliamentary secretary to the chief minister, Jayamurthy and Government whip Anantharaman boycott the LG's address.</span><br />
