Puducherry: Karaikal reports first Coronavirus case

<span style="color: #222222;">Puducherry Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao said today that a 27-year old man was found positive for the Coronavirus in Karaikal region of the union territory. While talking to media persons today, Mr Rao said that this is the first case being reported in Karaikal.<br />''<br />''The youth was arrested in a case and when tested, found positive, following which he was admitted to the COVID ward of the Karaikal government hospital. Steps are being taken to find out his contacts and his family members are being tested.<br />''<br />''Further, that one kilometre of his residence was declared as containment zone and fences erected to prevent the movement of the people. Further, Mr Rao added that one among the three COVID-19 cases treated at the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College was discharged today and presently there are only three positive cases in the Union Territory with two at the Government Medical College and one in Karaikal. Five cases from Tamil Nadu are being treated at the JIPMER hospital.</span><br />
