People of Puducherry heave a sigh of relief as Cyclone Vardha passed off without causing any destruction. Mild showers continued throughout the day, however wind was moderate. Sea remained rough and violent. <br/><br/>Though, water entered some low lying areas, it has not necessitated any evacuation. Disaster Management apparatus of the administration was on high alert throughout the day. <br/><br/>Vardha did not affect the other two enclaves, Karaikal and Yanam, of Puducherry. AIR correspondent quoting sources said that the Relief and rescue teams will maintain vigilance during the night as per the Emergency Control Room.
