Following the COVID Appropriate Behaviour guidelines issued by the Home Ministry, the Puducherry District Administration and the Police have made elaborate arrangements and imposed restrictions for the people to visit Puducherry for New Year celebrations tonight.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''AIR correspondent reports that in a joint press conference DGP Balaji Srivastava and District Collector Purva Garg said that celebrations, events in hotels, resorts and in public places are not allowed today. In view of the COVID guidelines and limited space in the Beach Road , only appropriate number of visitors would be allowed on first come, first served basis tonight. The entire Promenade beach area has been divided into zones with separate entry points. People will be subjected to thermal screening at these points. If any symptoms are confirmed, they would be isolated.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''Further, the traffic restrictions will be in place from 2 p.m. today in the White Town area. After 2 p.m. no vehicles will be allowed in this area till 9 a.m. tomorrow morning. Separate passes will be issued for the residents of White Town and tourists. Separate parking lots for the four wheelers and two wheelers and free bus services are arranged from the lots to beach.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Since Tamil Nadu and Karnataka Governments banned New Year Celebrations, a large number of tourists are expected to visit Puducherry.</span><br />
