In Puducherry, the Opposition Congress party has urged Lt Governor Mr. Iqbal Singh to recommend to the Centre the dismissal of Education Minister P M L Kalyanasundaram, following the Tamil Nadu police registering a criminal case against him for allegedly using a proxy to write the class X public examination.A delegation of Congress party led by the PCC President Mr. A.V.Subramanium and leader of the 0pposition Mr. V.Vaithilingam met the Lt Governor today and handed over a petition seeking the minister’s dismissal. Later speaking to newsmen Mr. Subrmanium said that Mr. Iqbal Singh had assured the delegation that he would seek clarification from the Chief Minister on the issue.Union Minister Mr. V Narayanasamy said the party was demanding Mr. Kalyasundram’s dismissal, as there was possibility of him tampering with evidence.
