Puducherry CM sacks tainted Education Minister

Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangaswamy has sacked Education Minister Kalayanasundaram, who is embroiled in a case of using a proxy to write the Class ten examinations.The Chief Minister’s letter recommending dismissal of the minister was handed over to the Lt. Governor Iqbal Singh's office this evening. Raj Nivas sources said the Lt. Governor is in Delhi now and a decision will be taken on his return to Puducherry tomorrow.AIR correspondent reports that the Puducherry Education minister has been absconding, after the Madras High court rejected his anticipatory bail petition. Tamil Nadu police has formed a special team to arrest him.Kalayanasundaram had reportedly used a proxy to write the class tenth examination in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu.Following a complaint from the villupuram District Education Officer, the police had registered a case and had issued summons to the Minister asking him to appear before them for enquiry.However, the summons could not be served as the Speaker of the Puducherry Assembly had informed the police that the Minister was not traceable
