In Puducherry, the Congress Party has promised a slew of incentives and concessions to various sections of people including students and women in its election manifesto for the Assembly Elections on the 13th of this month. Releasing the manifesto today, the PCC President, Shri A.V. Subramanian said, the Congress if voted to power again, will ensure equitable development of all the four enclaves. The new Government, he said, will provide either a Refrigerator or Water Purifier to all households in the Union Territory. The manifesto also promises free mobile phones to all families whose annual income is less than Seventy-five thousand rupees. Other salient features of the manifesto are include, The Rajiv Gandhi Health Insurance scheme, now being implemented for the BPL families, will be extended to all, 20 kg free rice presently provided through PDS to BPL families will be increased to 35 kg per month, increase in Pensions to aged/widows and destitute and At least one employment for each family in the Union Territory. Mr. A.V.Subramanian said the Congress will strive to fulfill the expectations to all sections of the society.
