In Puducherry, 40 persons were admitted to the Government hospital following a gas leak from a chemical factory in Kalapet this morning . Police sources said chroline gas had leaked when filling operations were on in the factory after which people in villages surrounding the factory complained of breathlessness, nausea and irritation. Those affected were referred to a hospital where their condition is reported to be stable.The State Home Minister Mr E.Valsaraj and PWD Minister Mr Shahjahan rushed to the spot and made enquiries with the company officials.
