The Puducherry Health Department informed that 280 persons took their first dose of COVID-19 Vaccine in the Union Territory till last evening.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''The COVID-19 vaccination mission rolled out on 16th of January in Puducherry. On the first day, 274 volunteers were vaccinated. On the second day, 117 volunteers from Puducherry, 116 persons from Mahe, took the vaccine while Yanam recorded 40 persons and Karaikal seven persons. Overall 267 persons from Puducherry region, 195 in Mahe, 70 in Yanam and 22 persons in Karaikal region had taken the first dose of vaccine.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Health Director Dr. Mohan Kumar advised that those volunteers who are taking the vaccine would have to get another dose after 28 days to boost the immunization power. As far as the new cases are concerned 37 cases tested positive today, while 26 persons cured and discharged. No death was reported from any region of the UT. Now, the recovery rate stands at 97.57 per cent and the fatality rate stable at 1.66 per cent.&nbsp;</span><br />
