In Pudhucherry, the Lt. Governor Mr.Virendra Kataria unfurled the National Flag at a colourful Republic Day function held at Indra Gandhi Sports Complex, Uppalam. He inspected the Guard of Honour presented by various contingents of Pudhucherry Police. Mr. Kataria has also presented President's Police Medals and Chief Minister's Rolling tropies for outstanding performance in the school final examinations. March past by various contingents of Police, NCC and Cultural programmes by school children were also held during the celebration.

The Chief Minister Mr.N.Rangasamy, Minister of State in PM Office, Mr.V.Narayanasamy, State Ministers, Speaker of the assembly Mr.Sabhapathy, Leaders of various political parties and Senior officials took part in the function.
