In Karnataka, the public transport bus service came to standstill today as over one lakh 40 thousand employees of the Road Transport Corporations staged protests demanding Government employee status. Their demand is for a salary at par with group D employees of the Government and other emoluments as is being to the government employees. The Deputy Chief Minister and Transport minister Laxman Savadi is holding discussion with the union leaders of the transport employees to resolve the matter.<br />'' <br />''Speaking to the media persons earlier, the Minister had appealed to the employees to get back to work as the Government considers their demands.
