BJP today launched a scathing attack on the Congress over the public slaughter of a calf in Kerala by its youth wing leaders terming the act shameful and provocative. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, senior party leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, it is unfortunate that youth Congress leaders publicly slaughtered the calf when the Constitution seeks to prohibit cow slaughter.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Congress has distanced itself from the incident and took action against the leaders involved in it. Party Vice President Rahul Gandhi had also yesterday condemned the incident which took place to protest against the government's move to ban sale of cattle for slaughter.
