Public Service Broadcasting day: All India Radio organises cultural programme at Rang Bhavan auditorium of Akashwani, New Delhi

On the occasion of Public Service Broadcasting day today, All India Radio organised a cultural programme at Rang Bhavan auditorium of Akashwani in New Delhi. The event was held to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's one and only visit to one of the studios of All India Radio, Delhi in 1947.<br />'' <br />'' The Father of the Nation addressed the displaced people, who had temporarily settled at Kurukshetra in Haryana after partition. Public Service Broadcasting Day is celebrated on the 12th of November every year. During the programme, the audience got enthralled by a series of spell-binding musical performances by Akashwani's renowned musicians, a musical band of BSF, and college students of Delhi University.<br />'' <br />''These artists presented musical performances based on Mahatma Gandhi's favourite bhajan and songs. The recording of Gandhi ji's original address to the displaced people was played during the function.  The function was attended by Director General – All India Radio, Dr Vasudha Gupta and senior officers and staff of the Programme & Engineering wings of All India Radio, Doordarshan and Prasar Bharati.
