President Pranab Mukherjee has said that industry climate all over the world is not encouraging but the public sector enterprises of the country are doing well. <br/><br/>Addressing Public Sector Day ceremony in New Delhi today, Mr Mukherjee said, many problems like global rescission and Eurozone crisis came but the Indian Public Sector Enterprises remained stable defying all odds. <br/><br/>He said, 244 operational central public sector enterprises generated a net profit of 1 lakh 15 thousand 767 crore rupees in 2015-16 and it is 12.5 per cent growth over the figure in 2014-15. The President said, no one can ignore the contribution of Central Public Sector Enterprises in the growth of the nation. <br/><br/>On the occasion, Mr Mukherjee presented the SCOPE Meritorious Awards. The Awards recognizes significant achievements of CPSEs in various fields leading to business excellence and competitive advantage.
