Defying the Shiv Sena threat, multiplexes in Mumbai screened Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'My Name is Khan' which opened to packed houses today. Most of the cinema owners had backed down after threats from Shiv Sena which is protesting Shah Rukh's comments regarding inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in this year's edition of the Indian Premier league. <br/><br/>Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil and Minister of State for Home Ramesh Bagwe went for the opening show. Over 1800 Sena activists were arrested by the Mumbai police to ensure the smooth release of the film.<br/><br/>Even in Gujarat, the owners of the big multiplexes have started the screening of the film. <br/><br/>The police have already arrested dozens of VHP and Bajrang Dal activists who tried to play a spoilt-sport.<br/><br/>Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting Ms. Ambika Soni said that the citizens of the country have today given us a lesson in unity.<br/><br/>BJP condemned the violent incidents occuring in Mumbai during the screeing of the Shahrukh Khan film. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party spokesperson, Mr Ravi Shankar Prasad blamed Congress for messing the situation.
