The government says number of initiatives have been taken to generate additional resources to complete the pending railway projects. Replying to supplementaries in the Lok Sabha, the Railway minister, Ms Mamata Bannerjee said 114 new railway projects announced in the budget will go for updating survey and then it will go to Planning Commission for its recommendations. Ms Bannerjee informed that public-private partnership mode is being adopted to fund the pending projects. She also told meetings with state officials are held on a regular basis to reduce delays on account of land availability.
