The Public Information Campaign of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Bharat Nirman got underway at Anakapalle in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh on Monday.<br/><br/>Meant to sensitize and empower people at the grassroots level on Government sponsored developmental and welfare schemes, the five-day campaign would also deliver services to the targeted beneficiaries.<br/><br/>AIR Correspondent reports, economic benefits under various welfare schemes distributed to the beneficiaries on the occasion. A free medical camp for the benefit of visitors was also opened at the main venue of the festival.<br/><br/>The district medical department and Ayush Vaidya unit is organising the medical camp. Loans to members of self-help groups is also being disbursed as part of the festival.<br/><br/>Schemes like NAREGA, ICDS, Mid-Meal, and 15-Point Programme for Welfare of Minorities, National Rural Health Mission, JNNURM, and Right to Information, besides the main components of Bharat Nirman, are being propagated in interior villages by teams conducted by the Field Publicity Unit coordinated by the Press Information Bureau. The programme will conclude on 4th December.
