Public hearing on any development project now mandatory in Sikkim

In Sikkim, a public hearing on any developmental projects or schemes now have become mandatory before its implementation across the state.

The government while issuing the related notification on Wednesday said that such meetings must be held at Garam Sabha within Panchayat and area Sabha within urban local bodies for the open discussion highlighting the advantages of any such schemes to ensure that its maximum benefit reaches to the common public.

The State official sources today said that now to mention clearly about financial implication including scope, funding and the completion of those developmental public concerned projects has become essential bringing more transparency for the benefit of people Sikkim.
