Public awareness campaign on prevention of COVID-19 pandemic to be held in Trichy

<span style="color: #222222;">A public awareness campaign on prevention of COVID-19 pandemic is being held in Trichy by the Rural Outreach Bureau under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The five-day inter-personal-cum-audio campaign will conclude tomorrow on the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The  campaign, spread over a large number of urban and suburban areas of Trichy, makes use of the common man's means of transport – the three-wheeled auto rickshaw.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Publicity panels are mounted on the auto rickshaw and it will travel to various urban and suburban areas highlighting the prime importance of maintaining social distance, hand hygiene and avoidance of crowding.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Street corner meetings are held wherever possible and pamphlets about COVID-19 prevention, prepared in local language are distributed. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Pamphlets are also distributed among groups like bus passengers, auto drivers and shop keepers.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The campaign, which is part of the Union Government's consolidated awareness programmes concerning both Mahatma Gandhi as well as COVID-19 prevention, is evoking considerable response, especially among younger age group, because of its uniqueness.</span><br />
