The public sector United Bank of India (UBI) will open its branches at all Gram Panchayat offices in West Bengal. After inaugurating 50 new branches and 20 ATM centers of UBI, the State Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee said this at the State Secretariat on Thursday. She said there are over 32 thousand Gram Panchayats in the state and there is no branch of a nationalized bank in 938 Gram Panchayats.The Chief Minister said that the government will allot space in Panchayat Offices for opening branches of banks. The state Finance Minister Dr. Amit Mitra and Chairman cum Managing Director of UBI Archana Bhargav were present at the function.
