The Uttar Pradesh Advocate General of the state Mr. Jyotindra Misra has assured that the state government has agreed, in principle, to revive the provision of anticipatory bail with certain amendments, as incorporated in the criminal procedure code. He has given this assurance before the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court during hearing in a PIL seeking direction for revival of the provision in the state. He said that the committee constituted by the state government for considering the issue under chairmanship of BSP MP Satish Chandra Mishra has filed its report to the government and soon it would be placed before the cabinet for approval. <br/>AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that the government had last week set up the committee to revive the provision for granting anticipatory bail in courts in the state, which was abolished 34 years ago in the year of 1976.<br/>
