Providing safety, passenger amenities topmost priorities of Railway Ministry: Gowda

The Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda has said that providing safety, security, cleanliness and passenger amenities are the topmost priorities of his Ministry.

Addressing a press conference immediately after presenting the Railway budget in Parliament, Mr. Gowda said, his Ministry has decided to have some more private players to expedite those facilities to the railway passengers.

The Minister clarified that the main operational part will be controlled by the Ministry itself. Mr Gowda said the Ministry has given emphasis to improve rail connectivity with the North-Eastern States.

Regarding the ongoing railway projects, the Minister said his Ministry will try to complete them at an appropriate time. Mr. Gowda said, bringing transparency in the administration is also the area of priority for his Ministry.

The Minister emphasised on revamping of railway reservation system into next generation E-ticketing system and also proposed to set up a railway university for technical and non-technical subjects.
