Provide access to civil nuclear tech to overcome energy crisis: Pak rep at UN

At the United Nations, Pakistan has urged the international community to provide it full access to civil nuclear technology to overcome its energy crisis. Speaking at UN Disarmament Commission in New York, Pakistan's permanent representative to the United Nations, Masood Khan said, Pakistan is committed to the goal of disarmament but there should be no discrimination in the peaceful use of nuclear technology. He said, Pakistan's nuclear policy is guided by the principles of restraint and responsibility. The envoy added, Pakistan does not want arms race in South Asia and is fully attentive to the emerging security dynamics.
