Protests organised in various parts of Odisha against hike in petrol prices

In Odisha, protests and demonstrations are being organised in various parts of the state against the hike in petrol prices by an unprecedented 7.50 rupees a litre by oil marketing companies. In Bhubaneswar, the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) state unit carried out a motorcycle rally and staged protests in front of several petrol pumps. BJP Odisha unit president Jual Oram, has said that the atrocious, unbelievable hike is a cruel blow to the people.The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) also sought immediate roll-back of the hike. Odisha's Finance Minister, Prafulla Chandra Ghadei, has said that the petrol price hike would have far-reaching consequences.
