The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill did not come before the Rajya Sabha today as expected. When the house met at 5 PM after four adjournments, Textiles minister K S Rao present in the house raised the Telangana issue and questioned on what basis the government is going ahead on bifurcation issue.
Deputy chairman Dr K J Kurien raised objection and stated that the minister can not raise the issue as the House has not taken up the bill yet. Dr Kurien adjourned the House as the minister continued to obstruct the proceedings on the issue.
Earlier in the day, Members from Seemandhra region tried repeatedly to stall the proceedings in the House in protest against state bifurcation.
