Protests continue in Haryana; affects road-rail traffic

In Haryana, the jat protesters of sarvkhap mahapanchayat, while continuing their stir on tenth day on Monday blocked all the national highways, link roads and Delhi- Ferozepur rail line in Jind district. The protesters have also blocked Gujjranwala rail line and roads In Tohana subdivision of Fatehabad district. In Hissar district, protesters are staging Dharna on national highways and blocked the roads by felling trees at many places including Agroha, Saat Road and Mayyer. The leaders of sarvkhap mahpanchayat have threatened to seal the entire state if their demands are not met by Tuesday. Meanwhile the president and all the members of the decision making committee of Mahapanchayat has resigned following revolt in the body and it has called meeting of its activists to form the new committee. Haryana DGP Ranjaiv Dalal visited Jind by helicopter as all the roads were blocked by the agitators on Monday. Addressing media at Jind DGP said that the three companies of Central Reserve Police Force have started their action and by Tuesday all the blocked roads and rail tracks would be opened. He said that Police is capable of vacating the roads and rail tracks but we are stressing for peaceful solution and force will be used if needed. Mr. Dalal said that Administration is alert and nobody will be allowed to play with law and order. He also appealed to the agitators that they should refrain from the antisocial elements and come forward for talk to find the peaceful solution of their problem.
