Protestors gather to lay siege to State Secretariat in Chennai to protest against the Koodankulam Nuclear Plant

Chennai today virtually was turned into a fortress as more than a thousand protestors had gathered to protest against the Koodankulam Nuclear Plant. Many of them were arrested and prevented entry into the city. The threat to lay siege to the State Secretariat has fizzled out even as the protestors had to restrict their movement and gathering at the Raja Rathinam Stadium, Egmore. The MDMK leader Mr.Vaiko and host of many other social movement leaders are voicing their protest demanding include the closure of the Koodankulam Nuclear Plant, withdrawal of additional security force at Idinthakarai and to stop the artificial power cut.
