In Tunisia, hundreds of anti-government protesters marched in the capital Tunis calling for allies of the ousted president to leave the government. The demonstrators walked down the streets of capital on Wednesday chanting songs and calling for former RCD ruling party members to step down. Meanwhile, the country's new government is reported to have postponed its first Cabinet meeting until on Thursday. The move follows continuing divisions over key Cabinet posts being given to members of the former government of the ousted President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali. Former President Abidine Ben Ali fled the country Friday after a month of protests and rioting sparked by widespread unemployment and high food prices. Interior ministry said that 78 people have died in the month-long violence.Tunisian prosecutors have opened an investigation into foreign assets of toppled President Ben Ali and his family. The official TAP news agency today reported that the inquiry will examine possible illegal transactions and foreign bank accounts. The move came as Swiss officials ordered a freeze on any funds held there by Mr Ben Ali.
