In Kyrgyzstan Opposition protesters killed interior minister and took the deputy prime minister hostage in a deadly revolt on Wednesday against President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. According to police, at least 12 other people were also killed. <br/><br/>Riot police fired tear gas and stun grenades in repeated efforts to disperse thousands of protesters surrounding President's offices in the capital, Bishkek. Shortly after the announcement of emergency, protesters stormed television centre forcing a halt to all programmes. <br/><br/>Amid appeals for calm from Russia, three leaders were arrested for perpetrating what the police called serious crimes. The United States, which maintains an air base in Kyrgyzstan for NATO campaign also voiced deep concern.<br/>
