Protest on for united AP

The protest demonstrations are continuing in Rayalaseema and coastai Andhra regions in favour of Unified State even as the bandh called by the Joint Action Committee of all parties is underway in some parts of these regions.<br/><br/>The Lok Sabha Member L Rajagopal has been shifted to hospital by force following deteriorating health condition due to indefinite hunger strike. Police said he is continuing his fast in hospital. Tension prevailed in Vijayawada city as supporters of unified state are staging protests.<br/><br/>Bandh is being observed today in several cities of Coastal Andhra Region in support of Unified State. Commuters are facing hardships on Vijayawada-Hyderabad National highway as agitators have erected road blockades.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, for the second consecutive day normal life came to a standstill in Vijayawada and other parts of Krishna district as a 48-hour bandh called agitators for unified state continued. Shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed in Guntur and West Godavari districts in response to the bandh call by various political parties.
