In Uttar Pradesh wife of former Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Y S Sachan today filed a protest application in the special CBI court at Lucknow against the closure report filed by the investigation agency into his mysterious death in the Lucknow jail.

Dr. Malti Sachan filed the application on the court`s notice issued to her for filing protest on the closure report. The court has fixed October 16 as the next date of hearing into the case.

AIR Allahabad correspondent reports that the CBI had on September 28 filed its closure report. The probe agency has said that during the investigation no evidence has come on record indicating death of Dr Y S Sachan in jail on June 22, 2011, to be a homicide. In its 120-page closure report the CBI has also said that the evidence collected during investigation, including statements of witnesses and expert opinions all indicate that Dr Sachan had committed suicide.

AIR correspondent reports that Dr. Sachan was arrested in connection with murder of the then CMO Dr. BP Singh and alleged scam into NRHM funds at Lucknow. He was found dead in mysterious circumstances in the jail on June 22 last year. The Allahabad High Court had directed the CBI to probe the case.
