Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said that the proposed Centre's policy for land acquisition will be sympathetic towards the interests of farmers and labourers. Addressing group of farmers at several villages in Tappal area at Aligarh district today on the third day of his foot march, he alleged the BSP government was busy constructing malls and stadiums to favour the big builders, ignoring the interests of farmers.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that Rahul Gandhi called upon the farmers to unite themselves to fight against bad governance of Mayawati government. Appealing the farmers to atten Kisan Maha Panchayat scheduled for Saturday at Aligarh, Mr. Gandhi began his foot march this morning from Sarole village in the district.Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Congress Chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi has said that the Maha Panchayat will be held as per schedule on Saturday and more than 30 farmer organisations from different parts of the state, will speak on farmer related issues including land acquisition.On the other hand, a young man carrying a revolver, has been detained while trying to move close to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his foot march in Aligarh. He was nabbed by the Special Protection Group personnel in Tappal village.
