Property prices in Delhi may go up as Govt revises circle prices

Property prices in the Capital may go up owing to a revision of circle prices by the Delhi government today. The Delhi cabinet under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mrs Shiela Dikshit today fixed the lowest circle rate at 9000 rupees per square metre as against the existing lower limit of 6,900 rupees. <br/><br/>The maximum limit has been set at 1 lakh 25 thousand rupees for every square metre. Mrs Dikshit informed that the cabinet has decided to to abolish the existing eight categories of colonies for determination of circle prices. <br/><br/>The Revenue department has identified 2,480 colonies for which the new rates have been fixed. The increase in circle rates will also lead to an increase in government's income from the registration fee of properties.
