Encroachment of properties of Non-Resident Indians will be taken up with the state governments in the 3-day Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, beginning on 7th January in the Delhi. The meeting on property issue will be a pre-conference event. Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Mr. Vayalar Ravi told media persons that the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the conference and the President Pratibha Devisingh Patil will deliver the valedictory address. She will also confer the Prabasi Bharatiya Samman -2010 on distinguished PIOs and NRIs. Mr. Ravi said that Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen, steel magnate L N Mittal and Pepsi chief Indra Nooyi are among global leaders of Indian origin to participate in PBD.
