Vice President Venkaiah Naidu has said a proper ecosystem for innovative science research should be ensured for the progress of the nation. <br/><br/>Addressing the valedictory function of the four-day India International Science Festival in Chennai, he said India had a glorious tradition in science and technology and asked the youth to reclaim it by their dedicated and innovative research activities. <br/><br/>He said artificial intelligence, "Internet of Things" and robotics would play a major role in the lifestyles of people in future. He also observed that science and technology would help reduce disparities between urban and rural areas and economic divide. <br/><br/>He suggested the corporate bodies to establish separate corpus exclusively for funding 'out of the box' science and technology research projects. <br/><br/>Union Science and Technology Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said non-polluting and yet impressive firecrackers would be developed before Diwali next year by using advances in pyro-technology. <br/><br/>He said the world's latest dental implants have been developed by Indian scientists and about 250 similar technologies will be transferred from Indian laboratories to the public for commercial production in a couple of months.<br/><br/>The highlight of the four-day India International Science Festival include the setting of a Guinness World Record for staging the world's largest biology teaching session, participated by more than a thousand students. <br/><br/>It was attended by more than 4000 delegates from across the country and abroad. Ministers from Bangladesh and Afghanistan also participated in the event. <br/><br/>The exhibition put up by pioneering laboratories and government and NGOs were visited by more than a lakh people.
