Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore said in the Rajya Sabha today that promotion of officers in each cadre is governed by their Recruitment Rules inter-alia providing eligibility conditions for promotion and designation, and designation of officers change consequent upon such promotion.<br/><br/>Replying to supplementaries in the question hour, the Minister said as per notified Rules on 24th March 2014, the posts in the TVNC cadre are designated as TV News Correspondent (TVNC), Special News Correspondent and Principal Correspondent.<br/><br/>He said after inter-ministerial consultations/approvals and creation of three posts in promotional hierarchy in TVNC, the Recruitment Rules for the posts of TV News Correspondent, TV Assistant News Correspondent, TV Assistant News Editor have been notified on 24th March 2014 which, inter-alia, provide for promotion to the higher grades.
