Promising leads on Delhi HC blast

Home Ministry says there are very promising leads on Delhi High Court blast but they are not conclusive. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, the Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram said that round the clock investigation is going on and anti-terrorism squad of Delhi Police and other agencies are helping the NIA in carrying out the investigations. The Home Minister said that it is difficult to say if there is any involvement from across the border. He however said that India has troubled neighbourhood infested by terrorists. Mr. Chidambaram also said that home grown terror modules are also active and it is a wake up call for the country. He added that an alert has been sounded across the country in view of ensuing festival season and the security surveillance is being reviewed. Regarding third mail from a terror outfit for a possible target could be Ahmedabad he said, the state police have been alerted. He said, that the government is seeking cooperation from international investigating agencies to crack the codes. Mr. Chidambaram said that he had expected Opposition leaders to show greater by-partisanship, maturity and statesmanship. He said this was the need of the hour at a time when many people have lost their lives in the blast. He admitted that there was a delay in installing CCTVs at High Court complex by the Delhi PWD. He added that the timely decision could have avoided such an incident. Mr. Chidambaram said that providing government jobs to the next of the kin of those killed in the blast is under active consideration of the government and the compensation to them will be provided immediately after the final list is compiled. When asked about the opposition allegations that not a single blast case have been cracked by the investigating agency he said, it is also the duty of the concerned state governments to get a breakthrough. Seeking support of the people Mr. Chidambaram said, it is duty of the every citizen to be alert and report to the police about any suspected activities. The Jammu and Kashmir police have prepared a sketch of the suspected e-mail sender from Kishtwar district and launched operations to track him down. As per the description provided by the detained persons including the cyber cafe owner, the sender is a 17-18 year old boy. The sketch is likely to be released by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which has been tasked with probing the Delhi High Court blast. Investigators had traced the HuJI email claiming responsibility for the blast outside the Delhi High Court to a cyber cafe in Kishtwar. Five persons have been detained in this connection. Indian Mujahideen, another terrorist out fit has dismissed the HuJI claim saying they were responsible for the blast. The Home Ministry is verifying claims of both the terrorist outfits claiming responsibility for Delhi High Court blast. AIR Lucknow Correspondent reports that 2 people detained in connection with their resemblance with the sketches of suspects of the blast have been released after questioning. Addressing the press conference, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said that out of 140-hour Monsoon Session, 66 hours were lost due to uproar created by BJP even though the government had expressed readiness to hold discussions on any issue. He said, it is unfortunate that BJP is expressing happiness, claiming they had an upper hand during the Session. He added that the dignity of Parliament has been lowered and people should ponder over it.
