Prohibitory orders clamped in and around Madni’s abode as arrest is imminent

In Kerala, prohibitory orders have been clamped in and around Anwarssery near Kollam today amidst reports of imminent arrest the PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani, who is camping there. A Karantaka police team has been camping in Kollam to arrest Madani, accused in 2008 Bangalore blasts case. Tension prevailed at Anwarssery this afternoon when police used canes and teargas shells to disperse PDP supporters who had gathered near the orphanage where the PDP leader is staying. All roads leading to the orphanage has been sealed and efforts are on to evacuate supporters who are holed up in the orphanage. The district administration has clamped prohibitory orders at Shasthamkotta and Mainakappally panchayats as a precautionary measure.The Thiruvananthapuram Range IG Mr A Hemachandran and the Kollam SP Mrs Harshitha Attalluri are camping in the area. Besides, additional contingents of Special Armed Battalion had been sent to the area.
